A time to dance

A time to dance

A time to dance

Time to Dance

For every thing there is a season - a
time to mourn and a time to dance…
    --Ecclesiastes

"Sweating your prayers" as Gabrielle Roth expresses it, experiencing the spiritual through circle & peace dances, sufi & liturgical dances along with other sacred dance forms. Explore music and rhythm, prayer and worship embodied in dance - and discover the Dance of Life!

Now comes your chance
for body flowing in dance
With mind growing in space
of soul knowing through grace

Yes, sacred dance opens you to experience the body-mind-soul's oneness moving the mind thru music, connecting the body through dance and blessing the soul in wholeness -

"To move is human … to dance is divine."
                --Kathryn Mihelock

Through Sacred Dance you are open to:
Rediscovering through the body a means to commune with and draw closer to the Divine;
Recovering body-mind-heart-spirit connectedness;
Expressing a moving sense of deep reverence by participating in worship that awakens and arouses a sense of joy & oneness;
Changing & growing spiritually thru uniting the mind-heart-body-spirit catalytically quickened in dance;
Combining through movement worship, prayer, healing and meditation as paths to transformation and peace;
Bringing forth recognition of inner wisdom thru integrating worship either as established traditional religious practice or as your own private spiritual form of expression;
Turning within to listen to and hear your "still quiet voice" - and to flow & grow through honoring your body's wisdom & grace, harmonizing & uniting spiritual with physical, spirit with mind-heart-body.

What to be asking yourself:
How would I dance to honor the sacred? Would my expression
turn to that of joy? of love? of gratitude and thanksgiving?
What moves me to express feelings about the Creator, Source of
Being? What moves me to dance in celebration of the Divine?
Are my energies audience directed or instead inspired as something others may join in? Or perhaps, as a personal mode of expressing worship and incorporating the Divine?

What to be telling yourself:
"Some dance to remember, Some dance to forget…"
                 --The Eagles, "The Hotel California"
to forget the limits of the self and to connect to the Divine - since what is ultimately important is what is in the dancer's mind-heart-soul, links to the Divine -

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? … Glorify God in your body.
                 --St. Paul, 1 Corinthians 6: 19 - 20

"Movement is the universal language - (it) integrates us
and transcends the spoken word … (into) an offering of the
whole self body mind heart spirit - in communication with
that Higher Power…"
                 --Kathryn Mihelock

"The real message of the Dance is to open up the vistas of
life to all who have the urge to express beauty, with no other
instrument than their own bodies… The Dance is at once the
most satisfying and the most beautiful human activity."
                 --Ruth St. Denis
